About the Role

What we are looking for

Our client is a specialized chemical manufacturer at the forefront of advanced materials, with a strong focus on alumina, zeolites, and mixed oxides. As a key member of the production team, the Catalyst Production Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring smooth operations and continuous improvement in catalyst manufacturing at their expanding production site.

Key Responsibilities

Support the development and implementation of new equipment, procedures, and systems to improve safety and reliability.

Work closely with product engineers, business development, and customer support teams to align production capabilities with market needs.

Develop work instructions, batching sheets, SOPs, etc. to communicate to production staff how processes are to run.

Interface with laboratory teams to validate physical and chemical specifications of catalyst products.

Troubleshoot process issues and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, throughput, and quality.

Implement and optimize key unit operations of the manufacturing process.


Requirements

What you bring

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

3+ years direct heterogeneous catalyst manufacturing experience from lab to production

Direct experience with the production of heterogeneous catalysts using alumina supports (extrudates, tablets or spheres) and with base metal and/or precision metal impregnation technology

Conditions:

Location: Candidates need to be located within commuting distance of the production facility in South Carolina or willing to relocate.
